Connecting flights at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport

Nice Côte d’Azur is a single-airfield hub for connections across Europe, North Africa and beyond: most transfers stay airside, while international arrivals re-clear passport control and security before their next flight. Plan terminal changes with the free shuttle or tram and you will be on your way.

How transfers work

  1. Same-terminal connection — follow the signs for Connections / Transfers from your arrival gate; Schengen-to-Schengen stays airside.
  2. Terminal change — Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are adjacent; the free shuttle runs every 15 minutes and the free tram link connects Terminal 2 ↔ Terminal 1 ↔ Grand Arénas.
  3. International arrivals — non-Schengen arrivals clear passport control and customs, then re-enter through security at the other terminal’s departure zone.
  4. Baggage — through-checked bags are transferred automatically; keep the claim tag with you if you collected bags at the border.
  5. Check your gate — with the Terminal 2 extension in service since April 2026, some check-in and boarding routes moved; follow the signage and the flight screens.

Good to know

  • Lounges by terminal: The Canopy and The Library (T1), The Infinity (T2) — bookable on the official site.
  • Fast track security can be pre-booked to shorten queues on tight connections.
  • Wi-Fi, charging points and food & drink are available airside in both terminals.
  • If you miss a connection, contact your airline’s desk first — rebooking rules are the carrier’s.

Allow extra time after the April 2026 Terminal 2 extension: some boarding gates changed, and the first connection of the day is easier when you know your terminal in advance.
